Buchanan Quality Foods

Established in 1871, Buchanan Quality Foods (Brand name: Buchanan's) processes, packs and distributes a variety of dried foods, including cereals and pulses, rice, pasta, dried fruit and other bakery ingredients. Buchanan's currently has a product range of around 70 different lines.

In October 2007, the company invested £1.1million supported by Invest Northern) in a new, purpose built 25,000 sq ft facility in Carrickfergus in County Antrim to assist in streamlining operations, help with new product development and facilitate ongoing export driven growth.

Following the move into the new purpose built food factory, re-branding and re-packaging the range, Buchanan's has experienced considerable sales growth.

Over 60 percent of the natural wholefoods including pulses, dried fruits, nuts and seeds produced by Buchanans is sourced and supplied to foodservice customers including chefs and caterers throughout Britain.

Buchanans has become a popular choice for home bakers influenced by the success of television cookery programmes such as Great British Bake-off.
