Northern Ireland's Jawbox Gin in marketing drive in Britain
Northern Ireland's Jawbox Gin has launched a major marketing drive in Britain to boost sales.
The promotional campaign, spearheaded by Jawbox Gin founder Gerry White, is in support of Matthew Clark, the company's recently appointed distributor in Britain. The initiative has already involved major sampling sessions in London, Manchester, Bristol and Edinburgh.
"I am delighted to have signed up with such an experienced and respected distributor as Matthew Clark and just a year after Jawbox was launched as Belfast's first classic dry gin in more than a century," says Gerry White. "I am now working closely with the team at Matthew Clark in support of their marketing campaign throughout Britain.
"Feedback from the promotions has been hugely encouraging. The drive gives me opportunities to talk to potential customers about our unique gin in what is a hugely important market for Jawbox. We are pushing the gin as hard as possible across Britain as well as in Northern Ireland," he adds.
Jawbox is a single estate gin distilled at Echlinville Distillery in Kircubbin, county Down from grain grown on the nearby farm. It is based on a unique recipe developed by White from his experience of more than two decades in the on-trade industry in the Belfast area.
Creating Jawbox, named after the tin sinks found in many Belfast homes in the last century, and reviving the once successful gin industry in the city, had been his dream for many years.
Jawbox was launched in early 2016 and has proved an outstanding success in Northern Ireland. In addition to growing sales in Northern Ireland, Jawbox has also been listed by Marks and Spencer for over 300 stores across the UK.
Based in Bristol, Matthew Clark is a leading national drinks wholesaler, with over 200 years' experience supplying drink products, hospitality training, labour management and marketing support to over 16,000 on-trade premises in the UK.
