'Pop Up' for Northern Irish artisan producers from Tesco

Tesco in Northern Ireland is continuing its support for local artisan food and drink producers by offering 'pop up' stand opportunities in the foyers of its stores.

The retailer is the biggest purchaser of local food and drink, spending over £500 million on local suppliers. Tesco is also the region's biggest retailer.

The 'pop-up' shop opportunity is designed to help smaller food and drink businesses put their products in front of Tesco shoppers passing through store foyers.

One of the first artisan businesses to benefit is PEPPUP, a delicious alternative to the table staple, tomato ketchup.

"Tesco NI has been an invaluable partner in helping my PEPPUP sauces reach people who love good food. It's been such a valuable test marketing platform for smaller producers like me," Luca Montorio, founder and managing director of PEPPUP, says.

To be able to give a helping hand to the next generation of local food and drink businesses is something that lies at the heart of Tesco Northern Ireland's ongoing commitment to the region's food and drink industry.

There is no fee for companies participating in this scheme. It simply involves companies manning their own stand/table in a Tesco NI foyer, sampling/selling/conducting research on your products as suits their own objectives.
