The awards, now in their eighth year, acknowledge the best and most exciting veggie products on the market. It is judged by a panel of celebrities with input from readers of the influential magazine.

Linwoods is a family owned and run business that began producing superfoods, especially flaxseed, in 2002 and now exports these to around 30 countries.

As well as milled flaxseed - the organic version is the company's best-seller - Linwoods also produces a range of healthy superfood combinations including goji berries, sunflower, sesame and chia seeds, hemp, nuts, bio-cultures, vitamin D and co-enzyme Q-10.

The company is also renowned for its high quality dairy and bakery products. Linwoods now provides employment for almost 300 people. It has won a UK Great Taste for the milled flax and seeds product.

The commended product is a combination that enhances the vitamin D and Zinc intake. Vitamin D helps the body absorb calcium and contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and teeth. The core ingredient of flaxseed provides both alpha linolenic acid (ALA), an essential omega 3 fatty acid that contributes to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels and dietary fibre.
