    Northern Ireland's award winning Glastry Farm Ice Cream has launched a new Ling Heather Honey flavour. The farm based ice-cream and low fat sorbet maker has teamed up with a leading local beekeeper, Michael Young, to create the new flavour using honey from bees on the heather clad mountains around Limavady in county Derry.

  • Gluten-free chocolatier wins first export sales

    Gluten-free chocolatier Cobden and Brown has secured its first retail sales outside Northern Ireland.

    The artisan enterprise, formed in 2012 by Northern Ireland chocolatier Caroline McArdle and a recent winner of two Great Taste Awards from the UK Guild of Fine Food, has begun supplying its handmade chocolate bars, which are both wheat, gluten and egg-free, to independent retailers in the Republic of Ireland.

    Northern Irish butcher O’Kane Meats clinched two prestigious European awards for the quality and creativity of its sausages. Based at Claudy in county Derry, O’Kane Meats, a family run business, came top at the recent Sausage Awards in Alencon, Normandy. The company was among sausage makers, white pudding producers and charcuterie specialists from most parts of Europe taking part in the unique competition.
