    A Slice of Heaven, the Northern Ireland manufacturer of hand-made, fresh desserts, has won its first business in Britain. The company, which is based in Newtownards, County Down, is now supplying desserts such as fresh cheesecakes and Banofee pies to high-end hotels, restaurants and other foodservice clients in London through a deal with Rajiv Tanna, a Harrow-based food distributor.

    Crossgar Foodservice, Northern Ireland’s leading food distribution business, has won a major contract from the Irish Prison Service worth around ?5 million over the next three ears.

    Crossgar Foodservice is supplying beef, pork, poultry and eggs to the prison service for meals in its 14 institutions throughout the Republic, as a result of its success in a competitive tender process.
